Phuket’s most famous Bangla Road wakes up with sunset. For transport, a red light comes on, indicating that the time has come for dancing, unbridled fun and sexual pleasure.
The length of Bangla Road is only 450 m; small streets and alleys called “soi” depart from it. Together, they make up an impressive pedestrian zone, full of clubs, bars with live music, cheap beer, brothels and massage parlors. Barkers actively invite to institutions, promising unprecedented pleasure.
Most of the bars operate in the open air, speakers screaming at the same time create an incredible cacophony in sound strength, but it does not seem to bother the local inhabitants at all: waiters, bartenders, katoy, go-go and other public who work in the entertainment sphere. Continue reading
